Wolfs Conservation and Restoration

A Chinese blue and white porcelain incense burner, Kangxi period ca. 1662-1722

Approximate size:
Diameter: ca. 35cm.

Object had a 4cm. darkened crack running from a baking flaw on the rim. All around the rim a few chips were missing and had been repaired in the past. The old restorations had deteriorated and yellowed.

Suggested treatment:
The crack was cleaned and consolidated. All chips were cleaned and old restorations removed before fills were made. Fills were retouched to hide.
